Parent’s Association

The HEPS Parents Association (PA) is made up of a group of friendly parent volunteers who work in cooperation with the Principal and School Council to contribute to the wellbeing of the HEPS school community.

The PA aims and objectives include:

• Encourage parent and family participation with HEPS by providing opportunities for families to get to know each other and be informed about their child’s school.
• Organise events that contribute to the sense of community, both with the children during school hours and with parents and families after school hours.
• Organise events and activities that raise funds for the benefit of the school.
• Work with HEPS leadership and staff, and the School Council to ensure that PA activities and events align with overall school focus and values.

The HEPS PA is made up of official office bearers and an unlimited number of general committee members. The office bearer positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Communications Officer. The HEPS PA holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) each March where office bearer positions are filled, and monthly general meetings to discuss the management and planning of activities on the PA calendar.

Each year the PA forms a calendar of events and activities that best supports the school community for the year ahead. Examples of the types of events and activities that PA have organised and supported include:

• Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls during school hours.
• Evening events for parents and carers such as trivia nights and social events.
• Daytime events for the whole family such as a colour run.
• Easter Raffle.
• Fundraising activities such as Bunnings BBQs and Election Day BBQs.

The HEPS PA welcomes all parents and caregivers to either join as a committee member or to just come along to a meeting if you are interested in finding out more. All helpers and all contributions are welcome, big or small. Being a part of the PA in any capacity gives parents a great chance to get to know the school, make new friends and make a difference at HEPS.
